Master Power System Analysis with ETAP

A comprehensive 8-session professional program covering complete power system studies — from fundamentals to a real engineering project, using industry-standard ETAP software.

This intensive program delivers step-by-step guidance through power system fundamentals, load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and protection coordination — covering protection basics, circuit breakers & selectivity, and full coordination studies with ETAP & TCC curves — closing with a recap session and an integrated engineering project. Live ETAP demonstrations and guided practice are included in every session.

Starting 14 August 2026, you'll build industry-ready skills directly applicable to real-world power system engineering. Each session includes live ETAP demonstrations, hands-on practice, and Q&A. Participants receive practice materials and access to ETAP Student Edition for the course duration.

What You'll Be Able To Do

By the end of this course, participants will have mastered these core competencies.

Understand power system components and build single-line diagrams in ETAP.
Perform load flow analysis to assess voltage profiles, loading, and losses.
Calculate fault currents and evaluate equipment withstand capabilities.
Understand protection philosophy, relay types, and key devices such as CBs and trip units.
Design and coordinate protection systems using ETAP's device coordination tools and TCC curves.
Apply all concepts in a complete, integrated engineering project.

8 Immersive Sessions

Each session combines theory, live ETAP demonstrations, and hands-on practice — fully aligned with IEEE/IEC industry standards.

01. Power System Fundamentals & ETAP Introduction
Power system structure, generation-to-load hierarchy, and the ETAP interface. Single-line diagram creation, manual vs. auto-build modeling, and building your first ETAP project from a real industrial network sketch.
02. Load Flow Analysis & Scenario Wizard
Steady-state load flow theory, bus types, and load modeling techniques. Configure ETAP's Scenario Wizard to compare normal, peak-load, and outage conditions, then interpret voltage profiles, loading, and losses.
03. Short Circuit Analysis Study
Fault current calculation using IEC/ANSI methods across 3-phase, line-line, and line-ground faults. Automate repetitive studies with ETAP's Scenario & Study Wizard and validate equipment withstand ratings.
04. Protection Fundamentals & Device Coordination
Protection philosophy, relay types, and coordination requirements — speed, selectivity, and sensitivity. Transformer, feeder, and motor protection schemes, with hands-on time-current curve coordination in ETAP.
05. Circuit Breakers, Trip Units & Selectivity Study
Circuit breaker fundamentals (MCB, MCCB, ACB), ratings (voltage, AF, AT, Icu, Ics), and trip unit protection settings. Selectivity study using a complementary guide and online tool, with hands-on LV protection settings practice.
06. Coordination Studies, ETAP Settings & TCC Curves
Full LV+MV protection coordination (50-51-50N-51N), current & time grading, and discrimination techniques. ETAP implementation of relay/CB settings and study cases, TCC curve generation and interpretation, and fixing coordination issues.
07. Comprehensive Review, Q&A & Study Workshop
A full recap of load flow, short circuit, protection. Troubleshoot common ETAP modeling mistakes and work through real industrial case discussions in an open Q&A.
08. Final Project Presentation & Professional Workflow
Present a complete ETAP project — layout, load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, as professional consultants do, with personalized feedback and career guidance.
